Good News!

Good news! I got all the grant I asked for from the Enterprise Board for my feasibility study for the business. It’s not so much about the money, (they’ll give me 50% of what I spend) it’s the fact that they want to give it to me, if that makes sense. It’s all very well having an interesting idea, and it’s certainly something to find a business angel willing to invest his time in helping me develop it, but it’s all academic unless people are willing to part with their cash. So it’s very gratifying. I may be crazy at times, but if I can be lucratively crazy, then I’m laughing.

My first reaction was relief, then waves of exhaustion. I’ve been so busy in polishing up the fiddly bits in the astrology site, almost as a way of diverting myself away from the tension of waiting for the grant decision, that I’m dog-tired. I’m going to take a step back, relax, have a social weekend, and try to move from micro to macro mode and start the planning.

I’ve got three months to do the research, although I hope it won’t take that long. There’s a week or two of interviews I’ve to do with members of a particular profession around Ireland, and once that’s underway, I will feel free to talk about what I’m up to in these pages. Blogging is an invaluable part in the business genesis, development, marketing, and it will feature in the end service. But, like most things in life, timing matters.
